Welcome to my blog. My name is Matthew and I graduated from an online high school. I am a bright person, but I was TIRED of the time wasted in high school. I wanted more control over my life and I got it. Now I know a whole lot more than anyone else about going to high school over the internet. Friends and their parents always ask me questions about it -- so I made this website.

I got my high school diploma online from a real high school.

Why did you get fed up in high school?
I felt like what I was learning wasn't practical or useful.
I felt like I was spending 9 hours per day on something that should only take a few hours.
I felt like I wasn't getting the proper socialization.

How much time did it take to graduate?
I took 4 years. The pace was decided by me. I believe I could have graduated much earlier if I was motivated. Many people get their high school diplomas in a few months. I believe most people can do that. However I was busy being a teenager and living life. I did not want to be 3 years ahead of my peers (starting college, etc), although my mom sure would have been proud of me.

What was my GPA?
I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Those of you outside of the United States may equate that with perfect numbers. Would I have been able to get a 4.0 in regular high school? YES. I am not an ordinary student, although I am writing this web page for everyone. My main problem with high school was that I felt the knowledge I was learning was pointless and futile. I also felt that it wasted a large amount of time relative to how much I was learning. I would wake up at 6:30AM every day and come home at 4:30PM. That is nine hours per day spent on something that I felt could have been accomplished in only a few hours, if that.

What about socialization?
My social life took a nosedive, true. Instead of hanging out and having fun, I was working online and making money. I also sat at home and spent a lot of time by myself. I still have no regrets about my high school decision... after all, I felt like it wasn't providing enough socialization with the right type of people, after all. Some people have a great time in high school, for most, though, it is not a great time and sometimes it is not even a healthy environment for them.

Did I get into college?
Yes. I went to a public university. Upon application, and seeing my 4.0 GPA, the admissions office sent me a letter asking me to join their Honors College! It was an honor, unfortunately their honors college was reputable for a heavy workload for no reason whatsoever, so I happily ignored the offer for more work for the same piece of paper.

What about applying for jobs?
Yes. My high school diploma has helped me tremendously here. Every job application has asked about my high school. Imagine if I had to put "none" or "GED program" on there!

What about financial aid?
Yes, I graduated from a private high school so I qualified for financial aid just like anybody else. In fact, some private school students believe they get preferential treatment because they are applying for scholarships from a private college-preparatory school. Others say it doesn't matter. However, the point is, YOU ARE JUST A NORMAL GRADUATE FROM A NORMAL, REAL HIGH SCHOOL.

Did you have any problems in your college classes?
Yes, I did have problems in math and science classes and I did need tutoring and more work than anyone else to succeed in them. Because of the ease with which I

Going through life with a GED, or worse, no high school diploma, can be painful.
